I liken working at CFM to feeling like you are Peter Pan living in Never Land. Maybe I am more like Benjamin Button because despite entering into my 30’s during my years at CFM, I have also found a new sense of youthfulness and energy, although my hangovers quickly bring me back to reality.
CFM has crafted an environment and culture like no other. Articulating how it feels to be a part of the CFM family is challenging so instead I will begin by explaining how the universe lead me in this direction.
Our family own an independent gym in a small town at the bottom of the South Island in New Zealand.
In 2016, a Business Development Manager contacted us explaining how a CFM marketing campaign could help our gym – help us to get more members, increase our revenue and boost our brand awareness. We took the leap and CFM did all of that for our gym. They delivered and our once struggling business is now thriving.
My mum, Karen was initially sceptical about the whole concept as she worried it was too good to be true, however her mind was changed over the course of the promo and her new belief is “the gym would not be where it is now without CFM”. #FACT
Throughout this process, Mum also mentioned that she thought CFM would be a great company to work for and could see me enjoying the lifestyle. Well Mum, just this once you were right! I applied and three years later, I am able look back on a career in which I’ve travelled to 23 different locations within New Zealand and Australia, worked and lived with 9 different colleagues and have been lucky enough to attend 3 (soon to be 4) international Christmas parties.
Those that know me, will know that I am an ‘all or nothing’ type of gal, and I am very passionate about many things in life, for instance taking a daily probiotic, wearing sunscreen, using Burt’s Bees and sipping a Pinot Noir. I have no doubt my fellow colleagues just rolled their eyes whilst reading that list. I am also extremely passionate about CFM and take great pride in telling others who we are and what we do.
In a nutshell, CFM changes people; it has improved the quality of life of the independent club owners that we work with, it has changed the lifestyles of those that have never been to a gym before and I have seen first hand the positive influence it has had on every single person who has worked for CFM.
Undoubtedly, CFM has changed me.
In the words of my sister, CFM has been “very very significant for you”. Call it a bubble, a cult or squad goals but at the end of the day, WE ARE FAMILY.
A diverse and unique family that I am so proud to be a part of.
I feel like my story has done a full circle; from the day I had my first Skype call with that Business Development Manager about doing a possible campaign at our gym, to becoming a Sales Consultant, to Marketing Manager and to now finishing on the road and becoming that Business Development Manager. The impact CFM has had on me personally during that time has been immense and something I am beyond grateful for.
I could continue to try and describe my experience, but what better way to show you than with a true CFM fashion video.
